Religious Education Program Overview
Each year, more than 800 children learn the word of God and our Catholic faith from Catechists. We have separate Religious Education classes depending on grade levels:
1. Preschool Program (ages 3 through kindergarten)
2. Grades 1-6
3. Grades 7-10
Most classes meet from September until Easter. See the information below for information on these classes.
Preschool
St. Mary's Sunday Preschool Program is a parent-run program with parish volunteers. The program is designed for ages 3-K sharing our Catholic faith through song, rhyme, prayer, games, stories, and crafts during the 9:00 AM Mass in the lower church. Contact Wendy Buda (217-1099 or SundayPreschoolProgram@comcast.net) to enroll your child and to volunteer your time.
Grades 1-6
Mass and Religious Education Classes are held on Sunday mornings at Squadron Line School from 8:45 AM to 10:30 AM. We have over 400 children and need about 40 catechists to help with this program. Contact Judy Eagen (658-5919),Coordinator of Religious Education, to enroll your child or to volunteer your time.

Grades 7-10:
Students meet in small groups in various locations on a day and time selected by their teacher. We have over 250 children and need about 40 catechists to help with this program. Each year highlights different aspects of being Catholic. The curriculum includes the Life of Jesus, liturgy and worship (grade 7); Church history (grade 8); Morality and the mechanics of Confirmation as a Sacrament (grade 9); Lastly, the sacrament of Confirmation is received (grade 10).
