Bill Rabbit has been working with Habitat for Humanity for over 12 years. He now organizes a St. Mary’s builder group to volunteer for 1 day either in the Spring or Fall. Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization that works with local communities to provide housing to those in need. St. Mary’s generously donates money earned from the Carnival toward the build day and each volunteer is encouraged to donate money as well as their time. Volunteers who have helped with Habitat for Humanity have described the experience as fulfilling and fun. The camaraderie of working together to help others makes the day well worth the hard work each person contributes. Adults and children over 16 years of age are welcome to come join the next St. Mary’s building day.
Look for details in the bulletin about the next build day. You can check out the Habitat for Humanity website (www.habitat.org) for more information. Contact Bill Rabbit (651-9137) for more information on how to volunteer your time.
