If We Have Died With Christ We Will Rise With Christ
The death of someone we love is one of the most difficult moments we face in life. While no one can remove the pain and loss we feel, our faith in Jesus Christ can sustain us in our hour of trial.
We have prepared a Funeral Guide to assist you in this difficult hour.
Among the items in the Funeral Guide:- A section on a list of readings prescribed by the Church for the funeral liturgy.
- Choose one reading from the Old Testament and one reading from the New Testament.
- The priest will choose the gospel.
- A section with a list of hymns that proclaim our faith in the resurrection of Jesus Christ and so are appropriate for the funeral liturgy. You may choose the hymns you like from this list, or you may leave the selection of the hymns to the organist.
- Guidelines for delivery of a eulogy after Communion
After you have read this guide, please make an appointment to see me at the parish office (860-658-7627) so that we can make final arrangements for the Funeral Mass.
